The following Plasma displays are capable of displaying 1080p/24sF (segmented frames) and 1080p/23.976sF (segmented frames) i.e. the type of signal output by the Sony CineAlta HDW-F900 HDCAM when shooting at a frame rate of 24p or 23.976p.

PANASONIC PLASMA MODELS:

(1) 37-inch Panasonic model TH-37PWD4UZ (480 x 852 pixel resolution). Standard-Definition (SDTV) or Wide-VGA resolution only.

(2) 37-inch Panasonic model TH-37PWD6UY (480 x 852 pixel resolution). Standard-Definition (SDTV) or Wide-VGA resolution only.

(3) 42-inch Panasonic model TH-42PWD5UY (480 x 852 pixel resolution). Standard-Definition (SDTV) or Wide-VGA resolution only.

This list is not exhaustive by any means. These are either models I've seen successfully displaying 23.976psF with my own eyes, or are specifically listed in the manufacturer's specs as being capable of this task.

All of the above Plasma monitors require a component Y, Pb, Pr input for displaying High Definition signals. In other words, none of them can display a HD-SDI digital serial feed directly (except where noted). In other words, Plasma and LCD displays need an ANALOG HD signal input, as opposed a DIGITAL HD signal input. When displaying a HD-SDI signal, a suitable digital to analog (D/A) converter is needed, for example, the AJA model HD10C HD-SDI serial to analog HD converter (which lists for $1990), or a similar unit. However the Sony 24p CineAlta HDW-F900 HD camcorder outputs component analog HD (Y, Pb, Pr) directly, so this signal can be input directly to the Plasma and LCD models listed above. Another option, new to the market, is a HD-SDI to DVI-D Converter from Doremi Labs costing around $1000. It allows you to display HD camera images on a computer-style screen, plasma or LCD panel, equipped with a DVI-D input. See http://www.doremilabs.com/products/HDVI-10.htm for more details.

According to the manufacturer's specs, all these models can also display 720p/59.94 output from the Panasonic AJ-HDC27V, Panasonic AJ-HDC27V-M1, and Panasonic AJ-HDC27F Varicam High Definition camcorders. They also display PAL and NTSC, and a wide range of computer output resolutions as well.

Personal tip: As pixel resolution and screen size goes up, giving you relatively small incremental jumps in terms of over all image quality, the price, on the other hand, jumps up in much larger leaps and bounds. So I think the trick is to find exactly where the quality vs price point is acceptable to you, and not pay a whole lot more for something that only looks slightly better.
